They say no pain no gain… man they weren’t kidding! Last night it was all about shoulders and back… and… yes you guessed it cardio! lol… It was a fun night. I got into the gym at 7pm and right away started with my warm-ups… trying to stretch every muscle in your body is not light weight… sometime that in itself is a work out… especially when the stretching area was a bit crowded. Thanks to the fact that all those macho wacko buff guys do not believing in stretching. Why would they when they are pumping iron to get huge arms. I never understood for a ordinary guy who works in an office wants to huge arms and ripped abs and whatnot. You can tone your body, get in a great lean shape, have endurance without the huge muscle top… (when you are all jacked upstairs and standing on tiny legs under thin waist).. It’ s dumb if you ask me… but back to my work out.
My arms are sore, my shoulders are hurting a bit, but you can push through. As I was doing the dumb bell curls… my trainer has me on a pretty low number of weights… this guy walks up next to me and grabs one of the heaviest weights… a couple of things to note he is a tiny twig, secondly there is a lady working out next to us that might be categorized as “hot”, “good looking” so you make that judgement call there… but five reps into it, I see him just slow put the heavy ones down and go for a much lighter one… This reminded me of my own efforts. Cuz when I went for my dumb bells, I felt tiny and ashamed that a big guy like me couldn’t do the heavy weight… but as I saw this having to backtrack, I thought to myself, I am looking good right now, going 15 reps non stop doing three sets.
The bible say the race is not for the swift… I am not sprinting here. This is a journey, a marathon and although changes might come right away… give me this next 90 days and you will see something amazing!
This is the advice today from my trainer
